About me

I am a self taught freelance photographer who is based in Barnsley South Yorkshire.
I developed my interest in photography through my passion for music after looking at all the great Rock n Roll images I had seen as a kid on the pages of the NME and Q magazine. I decided this was something I would like to have a go at myself. In February 2007 I approached a live music venue in the town I live and they said I was very welcome to cover a gig for them. The band name escapes me, but I was hooked. I quickly became the resident photographer at this venue and found myself covering gigs most days of the week. I became a photographer for a music fanzine, Barnsley Soundbites which published my images every month and they still do. I have covered hundreds of bands, shot at venues such as The Leadmill, City Hall, The Plug, The Academy, The Boardwalk and the Octagon in Sheffield. Also the Arches, Lucorum and many other venues in Barnsley. In doing this I have also had the chance to meet many people whos music I love. Milburn, Richard Hawley, Billy Bragg, Mani, Bonehead and Mike Joyce to name but a few.

Like all good photographers I take my camera everywhere I go. Whether it be a family party or New York City. This is my passion and I think I have captured some very special images.

I love covering weddings. Weddings are such a fantastic day for the couple and families involved. I love to be able to capture the special moments and the attention to detail on the special occasions for the familes involved. Nothing gives me greater pleasurethan producing something that makes somebody else very happy. The buzz I get from this is what it is all about for me.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a few thankyous, Album style. So Here goes. Firstly to my ever loving girlfriend Rachel for everything and carrying my Tripod when im short of a hand. To the Burn down the disco team for letting me loose on there gigs, Long may this continue. To My very good friend Chris for doing the website work. Your a trooper fella. And everyone else. You know who you are.
